This is informal mathematics (it shouldn't be read as a complete/reviewed textbook).
Still - it includes some of the ideas that I've formed when thinking about magniudes and magnitude space in the course of my work.
Often times, magnitudes are presented as "like the real numbers, but we lobbed off the negatives". This isn't necessarily wrong, but I think that a magnitude space should be considered an independent object with different intuitions around it.
Magnitudes are fundamental to most scientific modeling which includes: ratios, measurements, frequency, probability, and size
